Lawn Care Supervisor

Job Description: Lawn Care Supervisor
Location: Allison Park, PA
Shift: Daylight with overtime as needed
Direct Reports: Lawn Care Crew Member(s)


Summary Description:
As the leader on the front line of our operation, the Lawn Care Supervisor is a critical part of our leadership team! You will have the freedom to build your team and give them daily, hands-on direction to ensure successful completion of work for our residential and commercial maintenance contracts. Your team will have the ability to turn our first-time clients into life-long relationships through the quality and professionalism of your performance as well as your positive attitude. This is an entry level leadership role in a growing organization that recognizes and rewards talent through the potential for job growth and promotional opportunities. 

Specifically, your team is responsible for providing year-round property maintenance, including mowing & turf management, seasonal cleanups, seasonal color installation, bed maintenance and snow removal. Our staff is responsible for ensuring the highest quality service that our clients have come to expect from J. Fries Landscape & Design since 2003.

Duties and Responsibilities:
As a Crew Supervisor, you will be responsible for ensuring your team successfully provides seasonal lawn care and other services, including, but not limited to:
•Weekly mowing with commercial lawn care equipment.
•Trimming, edging, weeding, mulching & other detail work using powered equipment.
•Leaf cleanups, pruning & basic plant care service.
•Snow removal, including shoveling and application of snow melting products.
•Scheduled cleaning and maintenance of crew trucks and equipment as well as, office grounds and garage.
•Other job duties as assigned.

May be frequently exposed to heights and uneven surfaces. Lawn Care Supervisors are required to use personal protective equipment as environmental conditions dictate.

As a Lawn Care Team Member, you will be part of a strong team who will help serve our residential and commercial maintenance contracts. Since you will be the face of J. Fries Landscape & Design to our clients, you have the ability to turn our first-time clients into life-long relationships through the quality and professionalism of your performance as well as your positive attitude. These relationships have kept us rooted in our community since we opened in 2003.

Landscape Design & Sales Assistant 

Job Description: Landscape Design & Sales Assistant
Schedule: Full-Time
Location: Allison Park, PA
FLSA: Non-Exempt

Summary Description:
The Landscape Design & Sales Assistant is a full time position to aid in the growth of our company and customer portfolio. Founded in 2003, J. Fries Landscape & Design has become one of the premier providers of residential and commercial property maintenance, landscape and design services in the greater Pittsburgh area. The Landscape Design Assistant will work directly with our owner to meet with current and potential clients to understand their landscape needs and build a design for each according to specifications.  

Duties and Responsibilities:
As the Landscape Design & Sales Assistant, you will be responsible for designing projects for our clients and communicating all of the details involved in those projects to our owner, estimator, and foremen as well as other services, including, but not limited to:
• Core Responsibility: Experience designing, estimating, and/or installing landscape projects. Landscape project estimating and designing could include plantings, edging, retaining walls, sidewalks, drainage solutions, paver patios, lighting, and other related services.
•    Software: Design experience using landscape design software, 3-d modeling with sketch-up would be a plus. Designs will also require field measurements and estimates so experience in that area is also crucial. Experience with Microsoft Office Suite is key for writing and presenting bids. Our company uses Google Drive as well so knowledge of that would be a plus.
•    Project Management: Act as Project Manager using lean mapping techniques to ensure client expectations and job schedules are met and exceeded. Ability to problem solve and adapt to change. A highly organized individual will also have a leg up on the competition.
•    Existing Client Relationships: Learning each customer and developing a rapport with them to understand and anticipate their needs. Go beyond just delivering their order to recommend complimentary products and services that fit their unique needs. Maintain all these details in the Client Relationship Management System. Comfortable meeting in person with clients and/or speaking over the phone with them. The ideal candidate will also be comfortable meeting landscape crews on site to describe key services or answer questions/concerns if need be. De-escalate any difficult client interactions to create a positive outcome. 
•   Reporting: Complete reports daily to document project status, cost estimates and timelines. Communicate openly about successes and failures with your team. 

Requirements:
•    College education preferred, but not required
•    2-5 years’ experience in design 
•    Prior landscaping or garden center experience strongly preferred
•    Ability to lift 60 pounds in a safe manner.
•    Comfortability in with relevant computer systems and software
•    Possess a valid Driver’s License
